Beautiful St Brélade
CLEAN UP UPDATE
Afternoon all,
This email is a quick update on the Parish clean up following Storm Ciaran. Thank you to all of you who have helped to date with the clean-up both on the Sunday and through last week in your areas. Thank you also, to those of you who attended the Parish meeting on Thursday!
Having had an update from the Constable at the end of last week, many of the Parish roads are now clear with mainly the smaller Parish roads being the most affected. Due to the ongoing winds and clear up efforts necessitating trees / branches being cut down, some roads have ongoing debris falling into the road which is hard to monitor. Mike has spoken to IHE and the Parish Staff and it has been agreed that the best way forward for ongoing support from volunteers is that anyone wishing to continue to help with the clean up that they approach Mike directly who can then provide any equipment from the Parish depot and organise for any debris to be collected. Mike is cc’d into this email and he can also be contacted on 741141 or 07797 719778
WhatsApp Groups:
As you are aware, we set up WhatsApp groups to coordinate the efforts for the Clean Up. As these were made based upon areas of the Parish, there has been a suggestion that these groups are kept to support the Parish Community engagement and support project, Beautiful St Brelade. This was not the intention when the groups were set up but seems a sensible idea as several people connected with neighbours during the Clean-up and this will allow for people to continue to connect with one another if they wish. These group chats should only be used to support community initiatives.
We are aware that there are similar groups already in some areas of the Parish and as such some groups may be inactive. Remaining in a group, means that others have access to your mobile number. If you do not wish to continue in the groups for community support in this way, PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF from the group. If you do not know how to do this, let me know and I will remove you. I will be putting some group guidelines out in the coming days but otherwise I will not take up regular active communication using the groups, they are purely being left in place should people wish to facilitate ‘chat’ and communication with neighbours in their community.
Parishioner Questionnaire:
Thank you to those of you who have completed the Parishioners questionnaire, if you have not done this and are happy to do so, we will keep it open until the end of December and are asking all Parishioners to complete it if they can: https://forms.office.com/e/TWL9fTrZvt
Beautiful St Brelade:
For those of you who have indicated that you are happy to be contacted regarding Community engagement and support in the Parish, I will be adding you to the Beautiful St Brelade email list to be kept updated on the project. You can read more about it here: Beautiful St Brélade
Parish of St Brelade
We will not be sending large volumes of emails out regarding the Project but if for any reason you do not wish to receive these emails, please let me know and I will remove you immediately from the list. This is the last email I will be sending out on mass to the Parish Clean Up group so I just want to thank you again for the incredible Community effort with the clean up
Kind regards ,
