Liberation 80th Events
Its been a busy few weeks celebrating the 80th Liberation Day
There have been many events happening throughout the parish over the last month and we hope you have enjoyed them.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest gratitude to the members of the 80th Liberation Committee for their support in making these events happen, and the months spent spinning the wheels behind the scenes to bring them all together.
Starting off with the Family Fun day at The Parish Hall, the family day at The Social club, the guided leisure walk by Steve Pallet, the exhibition of memories and photos at the Methodist church organised by Caroline Hathaway, the Senior Afternoon tea’s at the Parish Hall & the Social Club, the swim and picnic at St Brelade’s Bay, the opening of 3 bunkers at Corbiere by the Channel Island Occupation Society, the service led by Reverend Sarah Mclelland at St Brelade’s Church, and our escorted trip to Liberation square for the service and re enactment followed an afternoon tea at The Pomme D’or Hotel.
We have so many people to thank, but a special shoutout to our volunteers who dedicate so much time to help the parish and for their continued support and generous spirit, and to YOU our wonderful parishioners who bring the joy and community spirit.
Your participation means a lot.
